| Tar Heels Walk Off with Win | Florida got a terrific performance from second baseman Ashton Watford, but it wasn't enough to beat the North Carolina Tar Heels. North Carolina won the Bruisers Ballpark contest, 12-9. Watford was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. North Carolina reliever Mike Price got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bobby Oleson was tagged with the loss. The Tar Heels bumped their record to 7-5 with this latest triumph.
Chris MacMillan, who is tied for 9th in the SBL in total bases with 34, chipped in for North Carolina with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 11th. For the game, the third baseman had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," MacMillan told the North Carolina Citizen.
