Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Wes Williams, who was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Brian Deneen got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the 49'ers to no earned runs on 3 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. James Larson earned the save, his 1st.
Williams had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Sun Devils went on to win.
