Buckeyes Lose, 3-0, at Field of the Shield

South Illinois Salukis starter Devin Foster turned in a top-notch performance against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Field of the Shield. The result was a win for the Salukis, 3-0. The Salukis bumped their record to 7-3 with this latest triumph.

Devon Whitney was 1 for 3 with a walk for South Illinois. The 19-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Tucker Carlos. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Whitney told a South Illinois Citizen reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
