Funston Hits 2 home runs in Crimson Tide Win

A 3-RBI performance from John Funston, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, helped the Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Iowa State Cyclones, 7-6. Gary Spencer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Julian Battles was tagged with the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Alabama was David Kress.

Funston had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Julian Battles, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Crimson Tide a 7-6 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Funston.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Funston. "And not try to do too much."

Iowa State's current losing streak is now 4 games.
