| Bulldogs Need Extra Frames to Get Past Tar Heels | Georgia beat North Carolina at Bruisers Ballpark, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Joe White, who earned player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Georgia reliever Tyler Eichelberger picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Denny Meyer was collared with the loss. With the win, Georgia elevates its record to 4-4.
White had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 2-1 fastball from Denny Meyer, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Bulldogs a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for White.
"We take it day by day here," said White, "and today was a good one for us."
