| Aggies Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | Texas A&M turned a good effort from starter Jesse Tanner into a win over the Arizona Wildcats at Sooners Ballpark. The final score was 6-2. Texas A&M reliever Lee Caldwell picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Caleb Johnson was collared with the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Matt Ratliff.
Had Tom Gomez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Gomez hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 5-2, in favor of the Aggies.
"We take it day by day here," said Gomez, "and today was a good one for us."
The Aggies, with just their 2nd win in 8 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
