| Trojans Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | The USC Trojans downed the Long Beach State 49'ers, 8-4, at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Craig Yannarella led the way, going 2-for-4 for USC. USC reliever Dave Hollingsworth picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Ryan Thornton was collared with the loss. USC is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 8 games.
John Teague helped out the USC cause in the top of the eighth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We maximized our offense today," said USC skipper Tommy Hayes. "That makes everyone's life easier."
