| Horned Frogs Stymie UCLA, Take 2-0 Win | TCU got a first-rate effort from pitcher Sean Rowell, who frustrated UCLA hitters en route to a 2-0 Horned Frogs triumph at Dingoes Ballpark. Rowell picked up the win for TCU, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Kyle Marlow recorded the save for TCU, his 2nd of the season.
The Horned Frogs got a big at-bat from first baseman Tom Bach. For the game, Bach went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave TCU a 2-0 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Rowell told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
With the win, TCU pushes its record to 4-3.
