| Golden Bears Solve Titans, 6-3 | Cal State Fullerton shortstop Isaiah Stokes had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Stokes slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, even as California beat the Titans, 6-3. Stokes was named the player of the game despite the loss. Kevin Hope got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. Jack MacDonald was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Had John Nolan not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Nolan hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Golden Bears.
"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Nolan.
Losses have been few and far between for the Titans so far this season. Their record drops to 5-2.
