| Volunteers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hurricanes | Both teams had their chances, but the Tennessee Volunteers eventually prevailed at Gremlins Ballpark.
The Miami Hurricanes got a sterling performance from pitcher Ryan Britton, but the Volunteers still prevailed, 4-3. Britton was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Colin Bower closed the door for Tennessee, picking up his 1st save of the year.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the tenth, Josh Butler hit a sacrifice fly. The Volunteers took the lead, 4-3.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Butler said.
Tennessee is off to a hot start at 4-2.
