| Demon Deacans Nip Yellow Jackets, 5-4 | The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets got a sterling performance from pitcher Eric Carlson, but the Demon Deacans still prevailed, 5-4. Carlson was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. The winner was Mike Vogel in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Eric Carlson took the loss. Ryan LeBlanc closed the door for Wake Forest, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
The Demon Deacans got a big at-bat from left fielder Mark Franklin. For the game, Franklin was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Wake Forest a 2-1 lead.
