| Washburn Helps Cowboys Run Win Streak to 5 | Oklahoma State and Miami put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the Miami Hurricanes, 10-5. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Geoff Washburn, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The Cowboys, now 5-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Washburn contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Oklahoma State in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-0, Washburn took a fastball from Dave Baker and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Cowboys to leap in front, 3-2.
Washburn called the triumph "a good team win."
