| 49'ers Get Win, Extend Streak to 4 | Greg Jordan made an impact in the 4-0 Long Beach State win over UCLA. Jordan, who is the top prospect in the 49'ers organization, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kevin Cook, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. David Davis was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Chris Wilson drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Long Beach State. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Steve Tomasello. It was his 3rd walk of the season.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Jordan.
The 49'ers, now 4-1, have stormed out of the gates.
