Salukis Topple Yellow Jackets with Late Rally

South Illinois and Georgia Tech played a hard-fought contest at Castles Ballpark.

The South Illinois Salukis did just enough to sneak past the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 2-1, at Castles Ballpark. South Illinois pitcher Devin Foster earned player of the game honors. South Illinois, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Elijah Samuels made it 2-1, South Illinois, in the top of the eighth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Salukis win.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said South Illinois skipper Justin Page. "I can't complain."
