| Bickers Goes Wild, But Bulldogs Win | The South Mississippi Golden Eagles got a superb performance from center fielder Jaime Bickers. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fresno State. The Bulldogs won the game, 10-8. In spite of the loss, Bickers was named the player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Chris Hancock closed the door for Fresno State, picking up his 1st save of the year. Fresno State, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from right fielder D.J. Cohen. For the game, Cohen was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Fresno State a 9-7 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Cohen said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
