| Yellow Jackets Get Road Win, 6-4 | The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets grabbed a 6-4 win over the Florida State Seminoles at Ballpark of Riverdale College. Georgia Tech left fielder C.J. Astle was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Ron Rizkalla got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Mike Dutcher closed the door for Georgia Tech, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Had Pat Christiansen not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Christiansen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Yellow Jackets.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Astle said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
With the loss, Florida State drops to 0-4.
