| Main Goes Off, But Crimson Tide Win | The Kansas Jayhawks got a superb performance from shortstop Eric Main. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Alabama. The Crimson Tide won the game, 10-8. In spite of the loss, Main was named the player of the game. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Alabama reliever Mark Miller picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Jeffrey Kanter was collared with the loss. David Kress closed the door for Alabama, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Jeremy Gaines aided the Alabama cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-5 with a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Gene Beatty.
Alabama, now 1-3, is off to a slow start.
