| Demon Deacans Score Late, Top Hurricanes, 6-4 | Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Jason Jordan, the Wake Forest Demon Deacans defeated the Miami Hurricanes, 6-4. Jordan was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Demon Deacans. Ryan LeBlanc sewed up the save, his 2nd. Wake Forest, now 2-1, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Demon Deacans got a big at-bat from left fielder Mark Franklin. For the game, Franklin went 1-5. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 3rd hit of the season gave Wake Forest a 6-4 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Wake Forest manager Gilberto Morales.
