| Jayhawks Lose, 4-3, at Ballpark of Ridge College | The Missouri Tigers beat the Kansas Jayhawks, 4-3, at Ballpark of Ridge College. Missouri center fielder Justin Hale earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 2 with a double. The winner was Missouri reliever Casey Stromberg, now 1-0. The loser was Hector Maldonado. Evan Sheldon was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Hale had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the fifth when the 19-year old center fielder hit a double. The double gave Missouri the lead, 2-0. It was his 1st double of the season.
Hale told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
The Tigers, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
