| Gators Slip Past Georgia Tech, 4-3 | The Gators faced a stiff challenge from Georgia Tech pitcher Eric Moretti, but persevered to claim a win at Ballpark of Bismarck College. The final score was 4-3. Moretti went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Florida reliever Doug Schuder, now 1-0. The loser was Mike Mudd. Rich Reimer was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Florida took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, pinch hitter Andy Norton hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Norton.
The Gators, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
