| Late Rally by Gators Secures Win | Madera College Grounds was the site of the home opener for the Tennessee Volunteers. The contest featured a prime matchup between Chris Kloet of the visiting Florida Gators and Sean Stroman of the Volunteers. The final score was 4-1, the Gators getting the win. Earning player of the game honors was Sean Stroman.
Andy Norton made it 1-0, Florida, in the top of the eighth when he reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Gators win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Florida manager Torazo Yamamoto. "It's usually not just one thing."
