| Wolverines Get Road Win, 5-2 | The 2038 season began for the Virginia Cavaliers with a loss to the Michigan Wolverines at Ballpark of Redwood College. The final score was 5-2. Michigan pitcher Adam Henry earned top player honors.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from third baseman John D'Urso. For the game, D'Urso went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Michigan a 2-0 lead.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Michigan manager Philip Lilly. "It's usually not just one thing."
