| Victory Pushes Vikings Record to 93-69 | West Virginia got a terrific performance from pitcher Jose Gonzles, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dublin Vikings. Dublin won the Valhalla Summit contest, 5-2. Gonzles was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Matt Hendricksen, credited with the save, is now 23 for 29 in save opportunities. The Vikings bumped their record to 93-69 with this latest triumph.
Had Carlos Triana not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Triana hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Vikings.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Triana.
