| Bush Wackers Turn Back St. Petersburg, 5-4 | The Brisbane Bush Wackers racked up a win at Baylor Ballpark, bumping off the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-4. Chris Peake, who started for Brisbane, pitched effectively for his team. Zaire Small was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 18 save opportunities. With the win, the Bush Wackers improved to 76-85.
The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from left fielder Chris Pope. For the game, Pope went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 29th double of the season gave Brisbane a 3-2 lead.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said St. Petersburg manager Dennis Inman. "But we decided not to take it."
