Marauders Edge Past Blazers, 12-11

Bloomington got a terrific performance from shortstop Fernando Franco, but it wasn't enough to beat the Maple Marauders. Maple won the Legends Park contest, 12-11. Franco was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Maple reliever Minoru Aoki picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Shichiro Iba shouldered the loss. Maple's record now stands at 30-34, placing them third in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.

The Marauders got a big at-bat from catcher Shoji Hosokawa. For the game, Hosokawa was 2 for 6 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 47th hit of the season gave Maple a 12-11 lead.

"This wasn't a good win," said Hosokawa. "It was a great win."
