| River Chiefs Win Thriller, 2-1 | Chippewa turned a good effort from starter Mark Daniel into a win over the Charleston Panthers at The Reservation. The final score was 2-1. Reliever Chris Terry picked up the win. His record improves to 6-3. Takuzo Okuyama took the loss. This win makes it 5 in a row for Chippewa.
The River Chiefs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Josh Humphreys turned a 2-1 fastball from Takuzo Okuyama into a 2-run triple. The walk-off triple sent a roar through the crowd and gave Chippewa a thrilling 2-1 win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Chippewa manager Clayton O'Neil said.
