| Sting Stymie Bethesda, Take 2-1 Win | The Houston Sting downed the Bethesda Hornets, 2-1, at Woodland Park. The Sting were led by Matt Hudson, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. Houston reliever Hugh Umlah picked up the win, upping his record to 8-4. Eddie Ramos took the loss. David Hernandez got the save, his 21st in 22 chances.
Hudson had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Sting went on to win.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Houston manager Ramu Pavi said.
