The St. Petersburg Pelicans topped the Cambridge Orphans, 7-5, in RCLA action at Abbey Stadium. The player of the game was St. Petersburg pitcher Harry Kates. Kates, now 5-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Jeff Hymel got the save, his 7th in 9 chances.
