Victory Over Pioneers Takes Cabo San Lucas to 42-23

The Cabo San Lucas Toreros beat the Vancouver Pioneers, 12-2, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. The Toreros got a fine performance from center fielder Mike Rizzo, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 times. Cabo San Lucas is now 42-23, 6½ games up in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.

Cabo San Lucas used the timely hitting of Mike Pope to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Toreros on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
