| Hornets Come Back Late to Clip Sting | The Hornets faced a stiff challenge from Houston pitcher Austin Cottrell, but persevered to claim a win at Woodland Park. The final score was 3-1. Cottrell went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Bethesda is now 57-96.
Hack Wilson's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a cutter from David Hernandez for a run-scoring single. It put Bethesda in front, 2-1.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Hornets manager Eric Rice. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
