| Vikings Stun Warriors, 9-8 | Victoria beat Winfield at The drakkar, escaping with a 9-8 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Howard Littlepage, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Nick Germinaro picked up the win. His record improves to 4-4. Kevin Shea took the loss. Zachary Schultz notched his 42nd save in 43 chances.
Littlepage had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch slider from Kevin Shea, he banged a run-scoring single to left-center, giving the Vikings a 9-8 lead. It was the 98th hit of the year for Littlepage.
"Enjoyed this one," Littlepage told the Victoria Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Victoria is now 95-58, 11½ games up in the TMLA Earl Weaver Division.
