Coney Island third baseman Douglas Tipping picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Charleston Panthers, 6-5. Stephen Schuller, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.
Sam Groendyk was the walk-off hero for Coney Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Groendyk.
