| Emeralds Come Back Late to Top Hornets | The Eugene Emeralds defeated the Bethesda Hornets, 12-9, in RCLA action at Hornets Field, with Eugene center fielder Jim Overby named player of the game. Eugene now sits in 5th place in the RCLA Tommy Lasorda Division at 62-88.
Overby had a game-changing single in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Andres Rico, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Emeralds a 10-8 lead. It was the 115th hit of the year for Overby.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Overby told a Eugene Citizen reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
