The Houston Sting defeated the Bel Air Princes, 6-2, in RCLA action at Philip Banks Field, with Houston pitcher Jorge Vega named player of the game. Houston reliever Jorge Vega was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Cary Dower took the loss for Bel Air. The Sting bumped their record to 78-69 with this latest triumph.

Alex Ashley aided the Houston cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ashley told reporters after the game.
