San Diego Hops starter Ricky Alvarado turned in a sterling performance against the Rubber City Rhinos, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Jimmy Shumaker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 15 save opportunities. The Rhinos, at 15-47, have lost 5 straight games.
