| Pelicans Fall to Brandenburg, Road Warriors | Westside right fielder Mike Brandenburg made his presence felt in the 13-4 Road Warriors triumph over the St. Petersburg Pelicans. Brandenburg went 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. John Hoy got the win, improving to 9-7. He held the Pelicans to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Westside currently is in 4th place in the RCLA Tommy Lasorda Division at 69-78.
The Road Warriors got a big at-bat from shortstop Carlos Mendoza. For the game, Mendoza was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Westside a 6-4 lead.
