| Cyclones Come Back Late to Top Jedi Knights | The Cyclones had to overcome a fine effort from New Orleans pitcher Kevin Maxwell to grab a narrow 6-5 win at The Republic. Maxwell went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The win was credited to Tyrese Bates in relief. His record improves to 1-1. T.J. Dyer took the loss. Coney Island now sits in 5th place in the TMLA Dick Williams Division at 65-81.
Sam Groendyk aided the Coney Island cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 5.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Groendyk.
