| Pelicans Jolt Road Warriors with Late Rally | The St. Petersburg Pelicans topped the Westside Road Warriors, 4-3, in RCLA action at Road Warriors Field. The player of the game was St. Petersburg center fielder Mike Medina. Kyle Jones picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ken Maynard was tagged with the loss. A.J. Schneider was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 28 of 30 save opportunities.
Medina had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 slider from Ken Maynard, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Pelicans a 4-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Medina.
"We played hard and won," said Medina. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The third-place Pelicans have won 4 straight.
