| River Chiefs Trip Sting in Extras | The Chippewa River Chiefs beat the Houston Sting, 10-7, at Woodland Park. The River Chiefs got a fine performance from right fielder Kyle Wakeman, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 6. Chippewa reliever Eric O'Sullivan picked up the win to move to 4-0. Hugh Umlah suffered the loss. Chippewa has a 3-game win streak, while Houston has lost 3 in a row.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the 11th, Juan Alvardo drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The River Chiefs took the lead, 8-7.
