Hornets Score Late to Upend Crosscutters, 1-0

The Hornets had to overcome a fine effort from Williamsport pitcher Shawn Thompson to grab a narrow 1-0 win at Crosscutters Park. Thompson went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. The Hornets now have a mark of 54-86.

The Hornets got a big at-bat from right fielder Jose Pacheco. For the game, Pacheco was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Bethesda a 1-0 lead.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Pacheco told reporters after the game.
