River Chiefs Bang Out 6-5 Win Versus Victoria

Chippewa first baseman Mark Cook played a vital role in his team's 6-5 triumph over Victoria. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Chippewa. Paul Childers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-4. Timmo van Bladel was tagged with the loss. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 81-58 with this latest triumph.

Cook had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a 2-run single. The River Chiefs went on to win.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Cook told the Chippewa Citizen. "But we take nothing for granted."
