| Tight Tilt Goes to Sting, 2-1 | The Sting had to overcome a fine performance from West Virginia pitcher Jose Aguilera to grab a 2-1 win at Woodland Park. Aguilera allowed 2 earned runs over 8 innings. Carlos Flores picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Jose Aguilera was tagged with the loss. The Sting bumped their record to 73-64 with this latest triumph.
The Sting got a big at-bat from first baseman Camren Bontrager. For the game, Bontrager was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Houston a 2-1 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bontrager.
