| Gnats Stymie Kingwood, Take 5-1 Win | The Nichols Gnats defeated the Kingwood Knights, 5-1, in TMLA action at The Pond, with Nichols pitcher Mario Solorio named player of the game. Nichols occupies 4th place in the TMLA Earl Weaver Division at 67-72.
The Gnats got a big at-bat from right fielder Keith Molnar. For the game, Molnar was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 89th hit of the season gave Nichols a 2-1 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Solorio told the Nichols Bulletin.
