| Kings Topple Black Squirrels with Late Rally | Fans who gathered at The Nut House saw a good contest between the Atlantic City Kings and Tree City Black Squirrels.
The Kings had to overcome a good performance from Tree City pitcher Steve Steenburg to claim a 5-4 win at The Nut House. Steenburg went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Stephen Lau was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 12 save opportunities.
The Kings got a big at-bat from third baseman Victor Rivera. For the game, Rivera was 1-4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 24th hit of the season gave Atlantic City a 5-4 lead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Tree City manager Doug Bergeron. "The effort was great."
The first-place Kings have a one-game lead in their division.
