Bush Wackers Turn Back Black Squirrels, 6-5

Brisbane beat Tree City at Baylor Ballpark, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Marco Romo, who earned player of the game honors. Zaire Small converted his 12th save in 13 tries. Brisbane now sits in 5th place in the RCLA Dusty Baker Division at 61-73.

The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from first baseman Manuel Vargas. For the game, Vargas was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Brisbane a 5-2 lead.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Vargas told the Brisbane Gazette.
