Gnats Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus Charleston

The Nichols Gnats defeated the Charleston Panthers, 7-3, in TMLA action at Franklin Mountains Field, with Nichols pitcher Mario Solorio named player of the game. Solorio went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-8. Kyle Johnson earned save number 7.

Seijii Mikami, who is tied for 2nd in the TA in stolen bases with 44, aided the Nichols cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

"It was a solid team effort," said Solorio after the game.

Nichols is now 65-69, Charleston 68-64.
