| Pelicans Subdue Williamsport, 3-1 | The Pelicans faced a stiff challenge from Williamsport pitcher Joe Arnt, but persevered to claim a win at Billy Mathews Field. The final score was 3-1. Arnt went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. St. Petersburg reliever Harry Kates was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Joe Arnt took the loss. The Pelicans bumped their record to 69-64 with this latest triumph.
David Tapia, who is tied for 9th in the RA in stolen bases with 31, aided the St. Petersburg cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop went 1-3 with a home run.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Tapia said.
