| Hops Top Sasquatch Behind Akiyama, 4-0 | The San Diego Hops picked up a win at The Brew Stade, knocking off the Seattle Sasquatch, 4-0. Starting pitcher Ryuichi Akiyama, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Taylor Longbottom, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. San Diego is now 31-32, Seattle 39-23.
Akiyama, who dominated for San Diego, earned the victory to move to 3-5. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 5. Seattle batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Akiyama.
