Pioneers Take Nail-Biter Over Earthquakes
The Vancouver Pioneers and San Francisco Earthquakes obliged those fans who came to "The Fort" at B.C. Place hoping for nail-biter.

Getting a good performance from shortstop Dan Rollins, the Vancouver Pioneers defeated the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-6. Rollins went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Pioneers. The Pioneers now have a mark of 22-39.

Rollins had a game-changing single in the bottom of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Mark Luoto, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Pioneers a 7-6 lead. It was the 50th hit of the year for Rollins.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Rollins told the Vancouver Times. "It's as simple as that."
