| Mitchell Slugs Saints to 9-6 Win | The St. Paul Saints topped the Charleston Panthers, 9-6, in TMLA action at Franklin Mountains Field. The player of the game was St. Paul shortstop Rich Mitchell. Reliever Mario Montoya picked up the win. His record improves to 6-9. Kyle Simon took the loss. Jack Nodell notched his 12th save in 13 chances.
Mitchell had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 slider from Kyle Simon, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Saints a 9-6 lead. It was the 22nd home run of the year for Mitchell.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Mitchell told the St. Paul Bulletin.
Even with the win, the Saints have a dismal 43-82 record.
